Publisher Sekai Project and developer NEKO WORKs have announced the release window for the visual novel Nekopara Volume 4. The game was first announced in May 2017. Development continued, and the game was planned to launch in Spring 2020. Unfortunately, the release was then moved back, but now fans of the series will get to play it later this year.
The Nekopara series first launched in December 2014 and has become so popular that it was adapted into an animated series. The series stars Kashou Minaduki, a young man part of a long line of Japanese confection makers. He decides to open up his own shop, “La Soleil.”
Upon exploring his new shop, Kashou finds two catgirls named Chocola and Vanilla, that his family was raising without his knowledge. At first, Kashou wants to send them back but then decides to work together to open the shop.
Nekopara is a romance visual novel series. While Kashou first meets Chocola and Vanilla, he will soon meet others to befriend and perhaps romance. Players select various options in the game to make the other characters happy, choose a partner, and hopefully make “La Soleil” a success.

Nekopara Volume 4 is a sequel of Volume 3. The Nekopara team posted an image of the upcoming game on social media, but little additional information has been released so far. Many of the characters from the previous games will once again make an appearance, along with some new friends.
Denpasoft has released the official summary for the game:
Despite the popularity of Kashou Minaduki’s patisserie, “La Soleil”, his father continues to disapprove of it. Seeing how troubled Kashou was, Shigure offers up a suggestion as a change of pace. A hot springs trip with Chocola, Vanilla and the other catpanions. With Azuki and Coconut’s encouragement, Kashou is determined to confront his father while Maple and Cinnamon suggest a trip to France to seek advice from the teacher who taught him his craft. But why is Shigure also tagging along!? And an encounter with a new catgirl in France… This story is a heartwarming cat comedy about the growth Kashou experiences through his catpanions and the bonds with them and his family…”
Sekai Works continues to work on translating the game from Japanese. Fans of the game can follow development on social media or by joining the team’s official Discord server.
Nekopara Volume 4 launches on PC this November.
