PSG’s Shocking Comeback Eliminates Atalanta From the Champions League, 2-1

Paris Saint-Germain scored two goals in the stoppage time, to come back against Atalanta, and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League semifinals. The final result of the game was 2-1.

It was almost inevitable to see the Saints eliminated once again, but a late miracle saved Tomas Tuchel and his team from another massive disappointment. PSG broke Atalanta’s lock in the stoppage time, stunning the Italians who were ahead for a little bit more than one hour.

The scorers for the Parisians were Marquinhos in the 90th and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 92nd minute.

Marquinhos’ goal came after Chuopo-Moting’s cross, which found Neymar, who would later assist his compatriot in the goalkeeper area.

PSG knocked out La Dea shortly after, with Mbappe once again showing his value to the team. He would storm into the box from the left, with Neymar passing him the ball into space. The French superstar saw Chuopo-Moting in the middle, and fired a laser-precise assist and the Cameroonian striker didn’t have any problems to find the back of the net from a nearby.

This completed one of the biggest nights in PSG’s history. On the other side, it turned Atalanta’s dream into a nightmare.

The Italians had it all, and they used a very pale first half of the Saints to gain a 1-0 lead through Mario Pasalic in the 27th minute.

PSG missed a couple of chances, among which, Neymar’s at the very beginning of the event, and the one afterward. Both of them were golden scoring opportunities.

And instead of continuing in the same manner, as they did during the entire season, Atalanta decided to defend in the second half. They were pretty good up until the end, but it needs to be said that Kylian Mbappe’s entrance changed everything.

One of the best players in the world immediately changed the picture on the field, and since he got onto the pitch, the Saints became even more aggressive and tried to pressure Atalanta, who was on the backfoot, or trying to delay the game.

Next, PSG awaits the winner of the match between Red Bull Leipzig and Atletico Madrid, which occurs tomorrow evening CET. Two more quarterfinals follow that one, Barca vs. Bayern and Manchester City vs. Lyon.
